What can I expect in my first counselling sessions?
The first session of counselling involves the process of being introduced to your psychologist. They would set a base where they help you feel comfortable, introduce themselves, and ask you some general questions to be able to understand what might have brought you to therapy, in a completely judgement-free zone. You are also free to ask them any questions that you might have about the whole process. After a brief introduction about yourself and questions asked and answered, a further date for the next session is decided. The session lasts for anywhere between 40-50 mins at the discretion of your therapist/counsellor.
