What is the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist?
A psychologist is anyone with a Masters Degree in Psychology (with a specialization in counselling, clinical etc) and above, whereas a psychiatrist is an individual who holds a medical degree (MBBS, MD) in Psychiatry. A psychologist is trained to give therapy, offer diagnosis, conduct tests, work for rehabilitation, while a psychiatrist can prescribe medication, offer diagnosis and work alongside the psychologist to offer a wholesome treatment to a seeker!
