About us
Mental health support that treats people like people.
BetterSpace is built by Shivtensity Private Limited. We started in therapy rooms and ended up building infrastructure, because the gap in India was never a shortage of good intentions — it was the absence of tools that scale without going cold.

Why we exist
India doesn’t have a mental health awareness problem anymore. It has an access problem.
People know they need support. What they run into is a waitlist, a price, a three-hour commute, or a therapist who doesn’t share their language or context. Meanwhile the moment that needed attention passes, and the next one arrives a little heavier.
We think the answer is layered. An AI companion that is genuinely available at 2am. Screening that produces a number a clinician can act on. A licensed psychologist when a human is what’s needed. And crucially, all of it reachable from inside the apps people already have open.
That last part is why we built Prism. Insurers, employers and hospitals already have the relationship and the distribution. What they lacked was clinically sound mental health they could ship without assembling a care team from scratch.
Serious care, soft vibes.
Clinical rigour underneath, warmth on the surface. A wellness product should never feel like a hospital intake form, and it should never pretend to be medicine it isn’t.
How we judge every decision.
How we build
Four commitments we don't trade away
These are the constraints we design inside, not values on a careers page.
Regional before global
Care that works in India has to speak the language people think in and respect the family they go home to. We build for that first, not as a localisation pass at the end.
Clinical, not vibes
Scores come from validated instruments and deterministic scoring — never from a language model improvising a number. If we cannot defend a result clinically, we do not ship it.
Privacy is architecture
Row-level security on every table, aggregate-only reporting for employers, and minimum cohort sizes enforced in the database rather than promised in a policy document.
AI with a human behind it
Rooh handles the 2am moment when nobody else is awake. When it detects real risk, it hands off to a licensed clinician. The AI is the front door, not the whole house.
What we build
One clinical spine, three ways in
The same assessments, the same companion, the same clinician network — reached however suits you.
For individuals
A mobile app with Rooh AI, validated screening, journalling, sleep tracking and licensed psychologists a couple of taps away.
For employers
Therapy credits, unlimited AI support and scheduled screening, reported back as cohort trends that never expose an individual.
For platforms
Prism, our GraphQL API. Assessments, Rooh AI, crisis detection and clinician booking behind one endpoint, under your brand.
Founders
Psychology and systems in the same room
A clinician and an engineer, arguing about the product daily. It is the reason our assessments are validated and our AI knows when to step back.

How we got here
From therapy rooms to infrastructure
Four years of narrowing the gap between needing support and actually getting it.
2022
Shivtensity is founded
In-person careWe started in therapy rooms and workshops, learning what actually helps by sitting with the people who needed it.
2023
Care goes digital
App v1The first BetterSpace app ships. Journalling, mood tracking and video sessions with verified psychologists reach people no clinic could.
2024
Rooh AI arrives
24/7 companionAn always-available companion that listens without judgment, understands context, and knows when to escalate to a human.
2025
Systems for organisations
50+ organisationsEmployers get a wellbeing system with aggregate-only reporting. 50+ organisations onboard, and clinicians get their own practice dashboard.
2026
Prism opens the platform
NowOur GraphQL API turns the whole stack into infrastructure, so insurers, HR platforms and healthcare apps can ship mental health without rebuilding it.
Recognition
Backed, reviewed, and used in the open
We’ve worked with UNICEF, P&G, the Government of Chhattisgarh, NIT Raipur and 50+ other organisations. Our app is public on both stores and our reviews are public too.

Building on our platform?
Prism is our GraphQL API. Everything technical — schema explorer, module reference, pricing and a 14-day sandbox — lives on the developer portal.
